London, England
On Peckham’s Queen Street, modern European dishes with subtle South African notes are served in an interior conceived by Alessio Nardi of A-nrd — a studio known for richly layered concepts and microscopic attention to detail. For this commission, Nardi and the owners pursued a warm, crafted atmosphere using reclaimed materials, plush upholstery, earthy saturated tones and considered accents. A central horseshoe bar becomes the focal gesture, its sky-high back display mirrored within an arched surround of dark oak timber. The indulgent composition nods to early-20th-century continental station cafés: a brass overhead with glass display, an Italian rose stone counter with scalloped edge and contrasting marbles — all converging to deliver a quiet, timeless opulence.
