Wood Slabs, Table Tops & Wood Art FAQs
Can I buy raw slabs, or only finished pieces?
Both. Timber can be supplied as raw material, including green slabs suited to table-making, or developed into finished pieces through specialist makers.
Which wood is best for a table top?
A dense, hard and stable hardwood. The collection keeps the technical performance of tropical hardwood, and Triton reports greater hardness and stability in its submerged timber. The right species depends on the tone, figure and size of the piece, and technical data is available on request.
Which species are best for fine furniture?
The Luxury species, Satiné Rubané, Ébène Vert, Amarante, Bois Serpent, Amourette, Boco and Panacoco, are offered in limited editions for decoration, inlay, objects and one-off pieces. The Rare species are prepared to order for interiors that call for something seldom seen.
Are the Luxury species available in volume?
No. They are very limited and offered in small editions. The Popular species are the ones available in volume, for larger pieces and whole projects.
Which woods suit sculpture and turning?
Amarante, Panacoco and Ébène Vert are strong choices. Amarante keeps a colour that lasts, Panacoco turns from bright orange to deep black within hours of being sawn, and Ébène Vert lends itself to turning. Angélique suits turned objects, knife handles and jewellery. Samples are available on request.
Do you supply wood for instrument making?
Yes. Panacoco is an ideal wood for instrument making, from guitar fingerboards to clarinets and flutes, and Ébène Vert also lends itself to instruments. Tell us what you are making and we will advise on species.
I am a designer or maker. Can we collaborate?
Yes. We are inviting designers, makers and artists to create the first pieces of the collection with us. Write to [email protected].
How is the origin documented?
Each batch ships with a Certificate of Guarantee of Origin, and the timber is harvested under a 25-year contract with the national forest office. That documentation can support BREEAM Mat 03 responsible-sourcing evidence; credits are confirmed by each project's assessor.
Do you supply projects in the US?
Yes. The collection is offered to projects in both the UK and the US. Start with samples or a presentation by video call; volume, grade, lead times and delivery are confirmed for each project at specification.
When can I order?
The collection is being introduced in the UK and the US now, with first projects delivered from 2027. Reservations for 2027 projects are open: request samples, book a presentation or download the catalogue.
